Job Summary
Medical Component Finishing Operator I supports preparation of medical components for final inspection and packaging. Responsibilities include inspecting and measuring fabric characteristics (EPI, PPI, CPI, width, diameter, thickness), identifying defects/contamination, recording test results, data collection to drive process improvements, entering results into tracking databases, and operating testing equipment (optical comparator, hot knife, microscopes, SEM). Also performs scouring, heat setting, cutting (including laser cutting), sewing, skeining, coiling, kitting, heat pressing, and uses ERP systems. Requires teamwork, ability to read and interpret safety and maintenance documents, basic math, and familiarity with WI/SOPs; on-site at Quakertown, PA.
Required Qualifications
- High school graduate or equivalent
- Minimum of 0-1 year related experience
- Basic understanding of good manufacturing practices and working within regulated industries
- Excellent interpersonal skills with proven ability to get along well with others and work in a team environment
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals
- Possess basic mathematical skills to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
- Excellent verbal communication skills
- Self-starter with ability to work in a high paced environment and follow WI’s and SOP’s
- Ability to properly complete paperwork as required according to work instructions, standards, or other specifications
- Excellent dependability and reliability
- Strong organizational/time management skills
- Strong interpersonal skills with ability to interact with various levels of the organization
- Basic computer skills and ability to use MS Office for email
- Willingness to accept change, learn, and work with new processes
- Familiarity with an ERP system preferred
