Medical Coding Auditor

Job Summary
Medical Coding Auditor responsible for analyzing, reviewing and providing feedback during quality assurance audits to ensure compliance with ICD-10-CM, HCPCS, CPT coding guidelines and modifier usage. Performs denial management reviews, collaborates with global coding teams, maintains training records and logs, and reports coding trends to leadership. Supports education and guidance according to coding and compliance guidelines; participates in audits of BOOST and global coding processes; leverages strong attention to detail, analytical skills, and proficiency with Microsoft Excel/Word. Requires at least 1 year of CPC experience, and ideally CPMA; role may involve remote/hybrid work with ModMed’s BOOST/RCM teams and ongoing continuing education to maintain coding certifications.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 1-year experience as a Certified Professional Coder (CPC)
- Minimum 1-year experience as a Certified Professional Medical Auditor (CPMA) — preferred not required
- Must agree to obtain CPMA auditing certification within 6 months of employment
