Job Summary
Medical Coder role focusing on accurate assignment of principal and secondary diagnoses, procedures, and E&M codes across inpatient and outpatient coding contexts. Requires strong attention to detail, organized workflow, and proficiency with ICD-9-CM/ICD-10 and CPT coding, CPC/CPC-A credentials, and experience with coding tools (One Content, Paragon, 3M). Remote opportunity with emphasis on productivity and quality standards, effective communication with clients and colleagues, and participation in audits and process improvements.
Required Qualifications
- CPC or CPC-A Credential
- 3+ years of Coding experience preferred
- Extremely organized
- Attention to detail
- Must type at least 40 WPM
- Must be familiar with Microsoft Word and Excel
- Experience with One Content, Paragon and 3M desired
- Medical Record Technology, Anatomy, Medical Billing or Coding courses are preferred
- Inpatient & Outpatient Surgery coding experience preferred
- 2 years of medical record practices and procedures or successful completion of Medical Terminology
