Job Summary
Medical Coder with CPC or CPC-A certification wanted to join Bayview Physicians Group’s Medical Billing team. Role includes reviewing charge tickets, progress notes, and operative reports to assign CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS codes; analyzing and correcting denied claims across multiple specialties; collaborating with billing/coding teams to ensure clean claims and timely reimbursement; participating in month-end closing with potential extended hours. Opportunities for remote and hybrid work after one year of successful employment. Requires CPC or CPC-A credential; strong communication, attention to detail, and ability to work independently. Prior medical office experience is a plus; training and education opportunities available across specialties (Hospitalist Medicine, Cardiology, Pulmonary & Critical Care, Sleep Medicine, Endocrinology, Podiatry, OB/GYN, Colon & Rectal Surgery, Urgent Care, Dermatology, ENT, and more). Located in Chesapeake, VA and Virginia Beach, VA.
Required Qualifications
- Active CPC or CPC-A credential required
- Experience or Apprentice in Medical Coding is acceptable
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Detail-oriented with high accuracy
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Team player with a positive, professional attitude
- General knowledge of standard office equipment and computer systems
- Prior medical office experience is a plus
