Job Summary
Responsible for assigning diagnosis and/or procedure codes (ICD-10/HCPCS) for Critical Access Hospital and Provider Based Clinic accounts to support insurance reimbursement and accurate records. Use Medicare NCCI, LCD, and NCD rules; maintain HIPAA compliance; ensure documentation supports codes; communicate with medical staff; maintain coding accuracy amid regulatory changes; participate in audits and resolve discrepancies; mentor staff and provide assistance as needed. Onsite/hybrid/fully remote work options are available; schedule includes four 10-hour shifts or five 8-hour shifts, Mountain Standard Time.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- AAPC Certification CPC
- 3+ years of relevant coding experience
