Job Summary
Assign accurate ICD-10 and HCPCS codes for ambulance services providers based on clinical documentation and official guidelines. Review modifiers to verify origin and destination locations, monitor work queues to ensure timely record processing, and validate signatures before claim submission. Maintain confidentiality of patient information while ensuring all coding adheres to regulatory standards and industry practices. Communicate with team members on trends and process improvements, and work to achieve revenue cycle key performance indicators.
Required Qualifications
- Medical Coding Certification through AAPC or AHIMA
- Working knowledge of medical billing and medical terminology
- Knowledge of Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA)
- Ability to type at least 35 words per minute
- Proficiency in 10-key
- Excellent time management skills
- Attention to detail
- Ability to work independently

- Maintain good working relationships
- Valid driver's license
- Ability to successfully pass a background check
