Job Summary
Abstract patient records to assign correct ICD, CPT, and HCPCS codes, ensuring proper APC or DRG groupings while strictly adhering to official coding guidelines, reimbursement requirements, and AHIMA Standards of Ethical Coding. Conduct regular chart audits and proactively query physicians to clarify ambiguous, incomplete, or unclear documentation. Maintain established productivity and quality rates while staying up to date on evolving coding policies and regulations. Work full-time, 40 hours a week Monday through Friday between 6 AM and 6 PM Central Time Zone.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma equivalency OR 1 year of applicable cumulative job specific experience
- Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) credentialed from the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA)
- Reg Health Info Admnstr credentialed from the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA)
- Reg Health Info Tech credentialed from the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA)
- Certified Professional Coder (CPC) credentialed from the Academy of Professional Coders (AAPC)
- 40 hours a week
- M-F
- Hours between 6 AM - 6 PM Centeral Time Zone
- No weekends or major holidays
