Job Summary
Check in patients, gather medical history, vital signs, and document findings in the EMR. Perform routine lab tests including glucometer, UA, and swabs, draw blood, and administer medications or injections as ordered. Assist the provider with wound care, dressing changes, and procedures while maintaining patient confidentiality. Manage the telephone attendant role and relay calls to doctors and other stakeholders. Ensure all regulatory requirements and clinic protocols are followed. Maintain a neat appearance and demonstrate teamwork with clinic staff.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- BLS certification
- Certification from an accredited Medical Assistant program
- Maintains certification with your board
- Basic computer skills
- Interpersonal skills including customer relations, grammar, reading, and organizational skills
- Ability to perform and read test results
- Ability to perform vital sign and knowledge of ranges
- Ability to adapt to new procedures
- Must be able to walk

- Conditions of work may involve exposure to communicable diseases and on-the-job injuries
- This position has an OSHA Category I level of exposure to blood and body substances
- Use of appropriate protective measures is required for every employee engaged in Category I tasks
- Is neat, clean, and dressed according to the Dress Code Policy
Desired Qualifications
- Knowledge of prior EMR systems preferred but not required
