Job Summary
The Medical Claims Payment Posting, Reconciliation & Reporting Specialist will post insurance payments, reconcile deposits, resolve discrepancies, and generate financial/revenue-cycle reports. Key duties include posting payments and adjustments (EOBs/ERAs), applying contractual adjustments, reconciling daily deposits, identifying denials and underpayments, producing daily/weekly/monthly payment and reconciliation reports, and ensuring HIPAA/compliance with payer guidelines. Requires 3-5 years in medical billing/revenue cycle and proficiency with major billing systems; associate degree or healthcare coursework preferred; high attention to detail and strong analytical/problem-solving skills.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree or business/healthcare coursework preferred
- 3-5 years of experience in medical billing, payment posting, or healthcare revenue cycle operations
- Strong knowledge of ERAs, EOBs, CPT/ICD-10 codes, and insurance payer processes
- Proficiency with billing systems (e.g., Epic, Athena, NextGen, eClinicalWorks, Kareo, etc.) and Excel/Google Sheets
- Excellent attention to detail, analytical skills, and ability to work independently with high accuracy
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
