Job Summary
RN II Float Specialty Services position at Houston Methodist Hospital requires licensed staff nurse with 2+ years of acute care experience. Float to various departments, provide professional nursing care, perform assessments, assist with exams and treatments, educate patients, and maintain medical records. Demonstrates leadership through potential charge nurse or preceptorship roles, participates in unit/shared governance, and collaborates with interprofessional teams to ensure safe, effective, and compassionate care. Must maintain licensure and certifications (RN license in Texas, BLS/ACLS, NIH Stroke Scale) and be able to float across assigned departments across multiple shifts (day and night) at the Texas Medical Center campus. FLSA status non-exempt; shift options include full-time across day and night rotations; travel not specified. Required Qualifications
- RN license (Texas or eligible for Texas licensure)
- Two years RN acute care experience
- BLS - Basic Life Support
- ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support or Instructor
- NIH Stroke Scale Certification (AHA)
- Permanent Texas license within 60 days (if establishing Texas residency)
