Job Summary
Assists in emergency and urgent care patient treatment; performs vital signs, specimen collection, EKG and blood collection as required; performs clerical duties; prepares patients and equipment for examinations; schedules and transports tests; maintains patient records and ensures accurate documentation; provides one-on-one sitter care when needed; communicates unit activities and patient needs to staff; adheres to HIPAA, confidentiality and infection-control policies; participates in ongoing training and supports performance-improvement initiatives.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Successful completion of an EMT, Medical Corpsman, Medical Assistant or equivalent healthcare training program or qualified by education, training to work with adolescent, adult and/or geriatric patient population as specialty dictates
