Medical Call Center Representative PRN 3rd Shift

Job Summary
Receive rapid intake of clinical consult support requests via phone, voice over internet, or custom web forms and route them promptly to specialty providers. Facilitate the transfer of clinical and operational information while assisting requesters in identifying needs to ensure proper routing within appropriate time frames. Maintain patient privacy, execute tasks expediently despite ambiguous information, and apply critical thinking for patient triage and evaluation within the Military health system. Collect, maintain, and track referrals using the automated External Referral Access database, while managing data entry, database maintenance, and electronic/paper file retrieval. Identify problems and shortages of specialty care to the supervisor, prepare reports on monthly statistical data and trends, and integrate data from CHCS, AHLTA, MHS Genesis, and MS Office platforms. Collect and integrate data from various software types to improve office operations efficiency.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma
- Minimum one (1) year of experience in the medical field
- Ability to supervise and delegate responsibilities effectively
- Ability to operate under intense pressure in a combat/real-time medical emergency
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision
- The employee is regularly required to sit and talk or hear
- The employee may use repeated motions that include the arms, wrists, hands and/or fingers
- The employee is occasionally required to walk, stand, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
- The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
Desired Qualifications
- Associate degree Preferred
- Graduate from a medical assistant training program accredited by Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) or the Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES) of the American Medical Technologists or a formal medical services training program of the United States Armed Forces, Preferred
- Minimum five (5) years of clinical experience in a hospital, urgent, or emergency care setting, preferred
- Prior military medical experience preferred (US Military combat experience as an Army Medic, Navy Corpsman, or Air Force Medical Technician)
- Computer Skills, and multiple computer technology platforms proficiency
