Job Summary
Prepare and submit medical claims electronically and manually to insurance companies, analyzing coding to ensure proper billing. Adjust demographic or insurance information as needed, attach clinical documentation, and examine patient charges for accuracy. Review unpaid or denied claims, correct errors, submit appeals, and follow up with payors to address denials. Record financial status of patient accounts and collection efforts. Collaborate with billing team members to complete various office duties.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma
- 3+ years of experience in a health care financial setting or medical office setting
- previous prior authorization experience
- Must be familiar with an EMR
- Microsoft Office 365
- Must be able to take responsibility and work under pressure
- Must be a positive team player
Desired Qualifications
- Knowledge of ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS codes specific to radiology
- Proficient in medical terminology, especially radiological terms and procedures
- Availability to start as early as 7a and work as last as 6:00pm
