Job Summary
Oversee day-to-day medical billing operations for ambulance services, ensuring accurate claim submission, proper coding, and timely accounts receivable collection. Review and process claims for emergency and non-emergency transports, resolving denied claims, billing disputes, and payment discrepancies. Lead complex billing issues involving coding errors, late payments, and underpaid claims while ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations. Provide training to the billing team on ambulance billing nuances, including transport levels and modifiers, and generate reports to track departmental performance. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry standards and insurance requirements.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- In-depth knowledge of ambulance coding (HCPCS, ICD-10)
- Knowledge of ambulance billing practices
- Knowledge of insurance requirements
- HIPAA Requirements
- Knowledge of industry standards

- Experience managing and mentoring a team of medical billing specialist
