Job Summary
Process, review, and submit medical claims accurately for new insurance contracts while monitoring status and resolving denials. Transfer patient, clinical, and billing data from the EHR system into partner insurance portals, verifying coverage and eligibility before submission. Directly contact insurance companies via phone and online portals to resolve billing disputes and document all communications in secure databases. Maintain strict HIPAA compliance when handling sensitive financial and clinical data using enterprise tools. This role supports the revenue cycle for our addiction treatment provider as we expand insurance partnerships.
Required Qualifications
- 2–5 years of professional experience in medical billing, healthcare administration, or revenue cycle management
- Proven hands-on experience working with Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems and insurance billing portals
- Excellent written and verbal English skills, with the confidence to conduct professional, clear phone calls with US-based insurance companies
- Fast, highly accurate data entry skills
- Proficiency with Google Workspace or Microsoft Office
- Confident working independently in a fully remote environment with a highly secure internet connection
Desired Qualifications
- Prior experience in behavioral health, mental health, or substance abuse/addiction treatment billing
- Familiarity with medical coding systems (CPT/ICD-10 codes)
- Experience utilizing secure workspace software like Island Browser
