Job Summary
Medical Billing Specialist responsible for insurance verification and eligibility, prior authorization management, collaboration with departments to obtain authorizations, patient financial counseling, and ensuring accurate input into EMR. Duties include verifying demographics, determining patient financial responsibility, monitoring authorizations, posting payments, establishing payment plans, and providing excellent patient and staff communication. Requires ability to multi-task, problem solve, and deliver high-quality customer service within a cancer center environment.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma required
- Two years of patient front office and/or billing experience
- Knowledge of insurance verification/authorization process
- Experience with EMR and practice management systems
- Familiarity with oncology and/or imaging settings preferred
