Medical Billing Manager

Job Summary

Oversee the entire billing process, including charge entry, claims submission, payment posting, and appeals management, while analyzing claim rejections and accounts receivable aging to identify trends and implement corrective actions. Supervise, train, and mentor billing specialists to enhance team performance, maintain up-to-date knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, and payer guidelines, and develop policies to ensure compliance with HIPAA and coding standards. Collaborate with other departments to streamline operations and prepare regular reports on billing activities and performance metrics for management review. This role requires a bachelor's degree in healthcare administration or finance, minimum five years of experience in medical billing, and proficiency in medical billing software and electronic health record systems. The position involves sitting or standing seven to ten hours per day and may require extended hours as needed.

Required Qualifications

  • A bachelor's degree in healthcare administration, finance, or business
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in medical billing or healthcare revenue cycle management
  • Proven track record of overseeing billing processes, including charge entry, claims submission, payment posting, and appeals
  • Experience in analyzing claim rejections and accounts receivable aging's
  • Previous experience in supervising, training, and mentoring billing specialists
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, and payer guidelines
  • Strong understanding and adherence to HIPAA and coding standards
  • Excellent analytical skills to evaluate billing processes and identify areas for improvement
  • Exceptional leadership and team management skills
  • Proficiency in medical billing software and electronic health record systems
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, to interact with team members and external stakeholders
  • Ability to work independently and make informed decisions in a fast-paced environment
  • May sit or stand seven (7) to ten (10) hours per day
  • May lift and/or move up to 30 pounds
  • May be necessary to work extended hours as needed
