Job Summary
Medical Billing and Coding Specialist at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University’s Daytona Beach Campus. Responsible for accurate coding, billing, and processing of insurance claims for Health Services; ensures compliance with federal, state, and payer regulations; serves as primary liaison for student health insurance enrollment, waivers, and related inquiries; supports revenue cycle management and student access to healthcare services. Full-Time 12-Month role within ERAU Health Services, focusing on enrollment changes for domestic/international students, claim submissions and reconciliations, and providing customer service via phone, email, and in-person interactions.
Required Qualifications
- Associate's degree or completion of program of 18+ months after high school
- Certified Professional Coder (CPC), Certified Coding Associate (CCA), Certified Billing and Coding Specialist (CBCS), or similar certification OR Associate degree in Medical Billing and Coding, Health Information Management, Healthcare Administration, or related field; or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience
- Knowledge of medical terminology, CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS coding systems
- Experience with EMR and medical billing systems
- Knowledge of health insurance plans, claims processing, reimbursement procedures, and billing regulations
- Strong customer service, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
