Medical Billing (Claims) Supervisor

Job Summary
Manage the submission of claims data, payments, and resolution of outstanding claim issues while supervising a team of Medical Claims Specialists. Coordinate answers with agencies and internal departments, sign off on credit memos, and audit team performance against metrics. Train new and existing employees on department procedures, assist in developing claims procedures for new agencies, and prepare accounts receivable reports to monitor unpaid claims. Collect outstanding payments by working directly with team members and agencies. Communicate with the Claims Manager regarding training issues, agency challenges, and unbilled items. Participate in company continuous improvement processes and staff meetings. Perform these duties from a home office while leading and mentoring multiple team members.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- 2 years of experience relevant to the work performed
- Experience with Microsoft Office products, specifically Microsoft Excel
- Excellent organizational and administrative skills with demonstrated ability to work towards and meet deadlines by planning and organizing
- Experience in working on complex projects with critical thinking and problem solving
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Able to work with numbers and apply basic math skills to daily tasks
- Strong ability to lead and mentor multiple team members
