Job Summary

Temporary Medical Billing Accounts Receivable Specialist to assist the team for approximately 3 months. The role handles preparing, submitting, and resolving insurance claims for physician and ASC facility services, using Epic billing workflows to ensure timely and accurate claim submission, corrections, rejections management, and follow-up to maximize reimbursement in compliance with payer rules. On-site at the Stonemill location with no remote work. Responsibilities include submitting claims electronically, validating data, confirming coverage and place of service, resubmitting corrected claims, routing discrepancies to relevant teams, identifying recurring issues, reviewing payer rejections/denials, coordinating with insurance companies, documenting actions for audit trails, adhering to CMS and payer guidelines, maintaining knowledge of billing across multiple service lines, and maintaining confidentiality under HIPAA. Qualifications emphasize high school diploma or equivalent, 2+ years in medical billing, coding knowledge (CPT/ICD-10/HCPCS), payer experience, strong communication, independence and teamwork, and proficiency with MS Office.

Required Qualifications

  • High school graduate or equivalent required
  • College level accounting or business courses preferred
  • Minimum of two years experience in medical billing in a healthcare related field, physician’s office, hospital or clinic
  • Experience in collections, customer service, and insurance billing and reimbursement preferred
  • Working knowledge of CPT/ICD10 coding, HCPCS, modifiers and payer billing guidelines
  • Experience with Medicare, Medicaid and commercial payers. ASC billing knowledge preferred
  • Knowledge of insurance billing procedures, collection laws, and medical terminology preferred
  • Excellent communication and public relations skills, both verbal and written
  • Ability to work both independently and interdependently with staff and team members with limited supervision
  • Excellent problem solving and critical thinking skills
  • Proficient use of computers including MS Office applications
  • HIPAA compliance understanding
