Job Summary
Submit accurate and timely claim billing and reports based on health plan, payor, or contract requirements. Compile proper paperwork, conduct research to appeal claim denials, and request refunds or credits when applicable. Review and monitor reimbursements from different payors to determine appropriate collection methods, then resolve payment issues with carriers regarding denials or partial payments. Modify and re-bill rejected or denied claims while assisting the Cash department on payor backup as needed. Adhere to company policies, information systems security procedures, and HIPAA requirements. Handle a large volume of work within tight time constraints, meeting or exceeding established productivity and quality standards.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or general education degree (GED)
- Ambulance billing experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Strong alphanumeric data entry skills with a minimum of 35 WPM with a 90% accuracy rate
