Medical Biller - Physical Therapy

Job Summary
Medical Biller with a strong focus on spine-related AR management and orthopedic billing processes. Responsibilities include AR follow-up and cleanup, reviewing and appealing denied/underpaid spine claims, communicating with insurers to obtain claim status, preparing and submitting appeal letters with proper documentation, ensuring timely payment posting follow-ups, maintaining detailed claim activity records, and collaborating with internal teams to resolve billing discrepancies and improve processes. Requires 2+ years of U.S.-based medical billing experience, expertise in Appeals and AR Management, CPT/ICD-10/HCPCS coding for orthopedics, and experience with U.S. payers; remote, full-time contractor role with PST schedule.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2+ years of medical billing experience in a U.S.-based healthcare setting
- Proven experience with Appeals and AR Management
- Strong knowledge of orthopedic billing, especially spine procedures
- Familiarity with CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS coding related to orthopedics
- Experience working with U.S. insurance payers (commercial, Medicare, Medicaid)
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- High attention to detail and ability to work independently
- Schedule: Monday through Friday, 9 AM to 5:30 PM PST
- This is a full-time contractor position (40 hours per week)
