Job Summary
Medical Biller responsible for reviewing medical records and documentation to accurately assign codes for diagnoses and procedures, preparing and submitting claims to insurance companies, following up on unpaid or denied claims, and communicating with healthcare providers, patients, and insurers. Must ensure compliance with ICD-10/ICD-9 coding guidelines, HIPAA privacy, and evolving insurance requirements while utilizing medical billing software and EHR systems in a fast-paced outpatient/private practice setting.
Required Qualifications
- Previous experience as a Medical Biller or in a similar role
- Proficient in medical coding systems (ICD-10) and terminology
- Familiarity with medical billing software and electronic health record (EHR) systems
- Knowledge of insurance billing processes and reimbursement methods
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in coding and billing procedures
- Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with healthcare providers, patients, and insurance companies
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
