Job Summary
Provide supportive patient care services under the direct delegation and supervision of a licensed provider by performing delegated clinical tasks, assisting with procedures, collecting patient data, administering select treatments, and competency validation. Collect signed provider orders while adhering to exact, unchanging instructions and organizational policies. Maintain knowledge of infection control and sterile technique for wound care support tasks. Requires current BLS/CPR certification and at least 100 hours of externship or six months of previous office experience. This role operates within an Ambulatory Wound Center as an unlicensed clinical team member.
Required Qualifications
- High school graduate
- Medical terminology
- Ability to work under provider delegation in an outpatient ambulatory setting
- Knowledge of infection control, sterile technique, and wound care support tasks
- Ability to follow exact, unchanging provider instructions and organizational policies
- Able to perform computer entry and basic office computer skills
- Current BLS/CPR certification
Desired Qualifications
- Graduate of a Medical Assistant training program
- Externship of at least 100 hours or 6 months previous office/OP setting experience
- Medical Assisting certificate
