Job Summary
Medical Assistant II provides clinical care and clerical support in the Worcester OBGYN clinic under licensed supervision. Responsibilities include escorting patients to exam rooms and recording vital signs, performing EKGs, phlebotomy, Point of Care tests, administering non-intravenous injections, assisting with routine physical examinations, and reviewing laboratory results to alert providers of abnormal findings. Requires High School Diploma or equivalent, current BLS/HS certification, and MA credential within 1 year of hire/transfer; 3 months to obtain BLS/HS after hire if not on file. Signing bonus may apply. Schedule details include daytime hours, 24 hours per week, 12-hour shift, Monday–Friday.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) or Heart Saver (HS) certification from the American Heart Association
- Medical Assistant credential, approved by the Massachusetts Department of Health (ARMA, NHA, etc.), must be obtained within 1 year from date of hire/transfer
