Job Summary
Medical Assistant provides general medical care under the direction of a licensed provider in an outpatient clinic. Responsibilities include obtaining patient vitals and medical history, preparing for physical exams, explaining procedures to patients, ensuring tests are performed accurately, administering medications, drawing blood, performing laboratory tests and quality controls, handling drug screening procedures, documenting immunizations, assisting with physician referrals and pre-certifications, preparing exam rooms, and maintaining complete documentation. Requires an AA degree or equivalent or 6 months to 1 year related experience; AMT registration and AAMA certification preferred.
Required Qualifications
- Associates degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; or six months to one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- AMT registered and AAMA Certified Medical Assistants are preferred
