Job Summary
Medical Assistant position in Womenc2s Health at Allegheny Health Network in Wexford, PA, full-time. Responsibilities include coordinating patient care under supervision, rooming patients, obtaining vital signs, documenting in the EHR, screening for depression, reviewing medication lists, pending age-appropriate screenings, assisting with examinations and procedures, scribing as needed, following established protocols, coordinating follow-up communications, maintaining clinical inventory, and ensuring exam rooms are prepared and sterile. Role may involve floating/travel between physician office locations and adherence to HIPAA, privacy, and company policies.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum High School / GED
- Completion of a Medical Assistant Program OR 1 year of Medical Assistant OR 1 year in a direct patient care role (including vital signs)
- CPR – American Heart Association
- Act 34 Criminal Background Clearance
- Act 33 Child Abuse Clearance Certificate
- Act 73 FBI Fingerprinting Criminal Background Clearance Certificate
- Certification requirements: Graduated from a medical assistant program within five years OR proof of one year of MA work in last three years; must complete certification training and/or attempt testing within 30 days of hire and obtain certification within 120 days of hire
- Accepted Medical Assistant Certifications (NHA, AAMA, AMT, NCCT, AMCA)
- Compliance with HIPAA and related privacy/security policies
