Job Summary
Complete clinical and administrative tasks within the clinic as the first point of patient care. Room and prepare patients according to specific checklists, measuring vital signs including weight, height, oxygen saturation, respiration, temperature, pulse, and blood pressure. Document medical histories and referral requests while assisting with day-to-day operations to ensure the clinic runs smoothly alongside the provider. This role is part of Munson Healthcare's northern Michigan community, where eight award-winning hospitals serve over half a million residents. The position requires a credentialed or non-credentialed Medical Assistant with a high school diploma or GED, BLS certification, and relevant experience or program graduation.
Required Qualifications
- Credentialed as a Medical Assistant from an approved Munson Healthcare Credentialing Organization
- High school graduate or GED equivalent
- One year (1) relevant experience working in a physician practice or similar healthcare setting in a provider/patient support
- Graduate of a Medical Assistant Program approved by Munson healthcare
- Munson Healthcare requires all employees be vaccinated or have lab confirmed immunity for Measles, Mumps, Rubella and Varicella
- MHC also requires all employees to receive a flu vaccine during the flu season in the year that they are hired and annually thereafter, or receive an approved medical or religious exemption
Desired Qualifications
- High school graduate or GED equivalent is preferred
- BLS certification preferred and must be obtained within 90 days of hire and maintained
