Job Summary
Coordinate patient care under provider supervision by preparing and rooming patients, obtaining vital signs, and documenting history, tobacco, and medication screenings. Administer medications, perform back office testing, and ensure exam rooms are stocked and instruments are sterilized per AHN protocols. Review and update medication lists in the EHR, cue up prescriptions and refills, and provide follow-up communications to patients. Perform lab controls, equipment checks, and clerical duties while maintaining HIPAA compliance. Float between physician office locations as required.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum High School / GED
- Completion of a Medical Assistant Program Certification
- Certification training and/or attempt testing within 30 days of hire
- Obtain certification within 120 days of hire
- Accepted Medical Assistant Certification (NHA, AAMA, AMT, NCCT, AMCA)
- CPR – American Heart Association
- Act 34 Criminal Background Clearance Certificate
- Act 33 Child Abuse Clearance Certificate
- Act 73 FBI Fingerprinting Criminal Background Clearance Certificate
- Compliance with Health Insurance Portability Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA)
- Adherence to applicable federal and state laws, rules, and regulations
- Adherence to company policies and training requirements
