Job Summary

Operate manual and auto-lensometers, autorefractors, retinal cameras, and visual field equipment to perform initial testing for patients. Verify medical and vision insurances, answer inquiries via phone and email, and facilitate patient flow while assisting the doctor in preliminary exams. Clean examination equipment and follow scripting for photos and visual activities. Maintain HIPAA compliance, practice urgency to value patient and doctor time, and interact with all employees in a professional manner. Full-time role with flexible shift availability within Monday-Friday 8am-7pm and Saturday 8am-1pm hours.

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED Equivalent
  • Basic computer skills
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Excitement to learn and grow
  • Favorable result on Background Check
  • Must be able to provide proof of identity and right to work in the United States
  • Minimum of 1 year in a position interacting with customers/patients or the equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Must be able to lift, carry, push, and pull items up to 25 lbs
  • Strong fine motor skills and full use of hands
  • Visual and auditory acuity—including color, depth, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus
  • Ability to work weekends, schedule changes or an extended schedule
  • Open availability to work any shift within hours Monday-Friday 8am-7pm, Saturday 8am-1pm
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook
  • Must be able to travel to other locations to carry out essential job duties and responsibilities

Desired Qualifications

  • Previous medical office experience
  • Previous ophthalmic experience
