Job Summary
Assists with provision of quality patient care and performs required administrative tasks. Schedules patient appointments and provides follow-up and reminder calls. Assists with various clinical tasks that include rooming of patients, vital signs, heights and weights, and any applicable screening questions. Provides basic, supportive patient care and administers approved medications under the delegation of a Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse. Collects and reports data to a licensed professional, including any abnormalities, and documents all findings in the medical record. May act as a preceptor for orientation and training of new staff, float staff and students as directed. Education requirement and certification details are specified above. Skills include strong written and verbal communications, interpersonal and problem-solving abilities, and proficiency with Electronic Medical Records and data entry.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program or five years of equivalent experience, required
- CPR certified (American Heart Association Heart saver with pediatric content) course, or Health Care Provider course or Red Cross equivalent, required
