Job Summary
Prepare equipment and aid providers during patient treatments, examinations, and testing while administering prescribed medications and treatments. Screen patients, collect vital signs, and perform point-of-care testing or venipuncture, then observe, record, and report patient reactions to physicians. Manage appointment bookings, coordinate procedures, handle prior authorizations, and initiate referrals for patients facing barriers. Provide patient education, call results, respond to incoming calls, and refill prescriptions. Maintain exam room cleanliness and supplies, attend department meetings, and ensure strict confidentiality. Work full-time Monday through Friday from 8am to 5pm in an outpatient medical business office setting with no travel required.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Graduation from an accredited medical assistant school or program
- Possession of an active MA certification or registration (can be obtained during the first 6 months of employment)
- Current American Heart Association recognized Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds
- Close vision
