Job Summary
The Medical Assistant will support both front-desk and clinical duties within a primary care team. Responsibilities include escorting patients, preparing rooms, taking vitals, performing blood draws, giving injections, bandaging wounds, assisting with procedures, coordinating with contracted labs, and administering medications/immunizations under provider orders. Additional duties encompass front-desk tasks such as patient scheduling, medical record requests and abstraction, documentation, coordinating referrals and external care, check-in/check-out, and timely communication of results. The role emphasizes collaboration with the care team to develop patient plans of care, addressing gaps in care, and engaging patients through outreach to improve health outcomes.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 1 year of experience working as a Medical Assistant, preferably in Primary Care
- Graduation from a formal Medical Assistant program or other related program
- National or state-specific MA certification or registration is strongly preferred
- MA certification or registration is required for employment in States where certification/registration is required
- CPR/BLS certification required at time of start date
- Phlebotomy experience is preferred
