Job Summary
Support physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, and nurses by taking vitals, assisting in medical examinations, and providing translation services. Prepare patients for procedures, plot growth charts, administer immunizations, and perform laboratory tests including visual acuity, audiometric screening, Snellen tests, spirometry, and EKGs. Deliver health education, counseling, and follow-up instructions to patients as directed by the provider while maintaining bilingual communication in English and Spanish. Requires current CPR/BLS certification, phlebotomy experience, and proficiency in medical terminology. Full-time role with competitive pay ranging from $23.00 to $25.00 depending on experience. Required Qualifications
- High school graduate or equivalent
- Clinical Medical Assistant Certificate from an approved school or hospital including externship verification of 6 months' clinical (back office) MA experience may be submitted in lieu of externship)
- Bilingual English/Spanish
- Current CPR/BLS (Child, Infant and Adult) certification
- Phlebotomy experience
- Good knowledge of general back office procedures, such as taking vitals, performing venipuncture, administering immunizations, etc
- Good comprehensive knowledge of medical terminology in English and Spanish
- Emergency response capability for possible crisis situations
- Experience/familiarity with computers, Microsoft Office products (Word/Excel), business e-mail communication systems and internet search capabilities
Desired Qualifications
- Minimum one year back office experience in a clinical environment
- Phlebotomy certification
