Job Summary
Medical Assistant role providing clinical and administrative support in outpatient and hospital-based settings. Includes taking vital signs, patient intake, assisting with examinations and procedures, performing EKGs and immunizations, specimen collection, specimen processing, infection control, documentation in EHR, scheduling and referrals, insurance verification, and coordination of care. Requires CMA/RMA/CCMA credential, a high school diploma or equivalent, BLS certification, and proficiency with EHR systems; bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred. Emphasizes patient-centered care, confidentiality (HIPAA), teamwork, and ongoing competency through continuing education.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Certified or Registered Medical Assistant (CMA, RMA, or CCMA) credential
- Active certification and continuing education to ensure ongoing competency
- Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
