Job Summary

Assist in examination and treatment of patients under physician/provider direction; maintain patient confidentiality and deliver high quality care. Responsibilities include supporting clinical procedures (including EKG and basic pharmacology terminology), using patient management software (EPIC preferred), and adhering to HIPAA, CLIA, and OSHA guidelines. Requires graduation from a Medical Assistant Program, national certification/registration or within 90 days of employment, CPR certification within 90 days, and strong communication and multitasking in a fast-paced ambulatory/clinical setting. Benefits include holidays, PTO, 401K, and health coverage. Located in Las Vegas, NV; on-site clinic hours typically weekdays 8AM–5PM.

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalency
  • Graduation from a Medical Assistant Program Required
  • One year medical assisting experience in an ambulatory/clinical setting preferred
  • Current, nationally recognized Medical assistant Certification or Registration required or obtained within 90 days of employment
  • Current CPR certification or obtained within 90 days of employment
  • Basic computer literacy required
  • Knowledge of medical terminology required
  • Good communication and customer service skills required
  • Knowledge of CLIA and OSHA guidelines
  • Knowledge of sterilization and disinfection procedures
  • Knowledge of HIPAA laws and ability to adhere to confidentiality policies
  • Knowledge of current medical assistant best practices and procedures including EKG and basic drugs
  • Knowledge of medical and pharmacology terminology and medical office procedures
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize work in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Working knowledge of patient management software and basic Microsoft office products. EPIC Preferred
  • Ability to identify and apply proper communication methods in patient instruction
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
  • Ability to interpret and read documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedural manuals
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent telephone and customer service skills
  • Skills to implement good safety practices that prevent exposure to known workplace hazards and the necessary action needed when exposed
  • Skill in applying and modifying principles, methods and techniques of a medical assistant to provide ongoing patient care
  • Strong attention to detail skills
  • PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS may include standing, sitting, and/or walking for extended periods
