Job Summary
Medical Assistant to support pediatric team in a clinical setting. Responsibilities include greeting patients, preparing patients for exams, taking vital signs, documenting medical history, assisting the pediatrician or nurse practitioner during examinations, administering immunizations and basic laboratory tests (e.g., strep tests, urinalysis), maintaining a clean and sterile exam environment, scheduling appointments, documenting in EHR, handling inquiries, and collaborating with healthcare providers to educate parents about child health and prescribed treatments. Requires completion of a Medical Assistant program or certification (CMA/RMA preferred), CPR/First Aid, pediatric experience preferred, proficiency with EHR, strong communication with children and families, and full vaccination including influenza.
Required Qualifications
- Completion of a Medical Assistant program or equivalent certification (CMA, RMA, or equivalent preferred)
- CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire)
- Prior experience in a pediatric or family practice setting is highly desirable
- Proficiency with EHR systems and basic computer skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work with children of all ages
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Must be fully vaccinated, including the annual influenza. If an accommodation is needed due to medical or religious reasons, an exemption form can be requested.
