Job Summary
Prepare patients for examinations and treatments, record medical histories and vital signs, and assist physicians during physical exams. Administer medications and treatments under supervision, collect and prepare laboratory specimens, and perform basic lab tests. Schedule patient appointments, manage appointment software, and handle patient inquiries, billing, and insurance verification. Maintain cleanliness in examination rooms, operate medical equipment, order supplies, and ensure proper sterilization of instruments. Support physicians in Neurosciences, General Surgery, Medical Specialties, or Musculoskeletal areas. Work 40 weekly hours in Austin, TX.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 1 year of relevant experience in a clinical setting
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA)
- Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate
- Background check
- Employment Eligibility Verification (I-9 form)
- Proof of identity and authorization to work in the United States
Desired Qualifications
- Associate degree in Medical Assisting or related field
- 2 years of relevant experience in a healthcare environment
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Phlebotomy certification
