Job Summary
Greet, room, and assist patients upon arrival while obtaining and documenting vital signs, medical histories, and clinical information in the electronic medical record. Perform clinical tasks including phlebotomy, EKGs, injections, vaccinations, and specimen collection. Accurately document all patient interactions using EMR/EHR systems such as Epic or Athenahealth. Deliver exceptional patient service while managing high-volume interactions in a fast-paced environment, leveraging fluent English and Spanish communication skills. This role floats between Bethpage and Stony Brook clinics, requiring Monday through Saturday availability.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- 1-2 years of hands-on clinical experience as a Medical Assistant or in a similar direct patient care role (e.g., Medical Assistant externship, CNA, HHA, Nursing Assistant, or Patient Care Technician)
- Experience performing clinical duties such as vital signs, patient rooming, phlebotomy, EKGs, injections, and specimen collection
- Proven patient-facing or customer service experience in a fast-paced environment
- Must be able to work Monday - Saturday
- Open schedule availability
- Must speak English and Spanish fluently
- Must be comfortable commuting between Bethpage and Stony Brook
Desired Qualifications
- Completion of a Medical Assistant training program and/or current CMA, RMA, or CCMA certification
