Job Summary
Medical Assistant provides essential support to doctors and patients in a fast-paced office, assisting the Physician with minor in-office procedures. Responsibilities include welcoming and preparing patients, taking vitals and updating histories in the EMR, assisting with minor procedures and basic podiatric services, applying dressings and managing DME, handling lab specimens and insurance verifications, processing prescriptions, making post-operative calls, patient education, room prep and sterilization, inventory management, HIPAA compliance, and travel between local Raleigh locations as needed. Requires strong communication, teamwork, multitasking, and attention to detail; CMA/RMA certification is preferred, and completion of a Medical Assistant program or 1+ year clinical experience is expected.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Completion of a Medical Assistant program OR 1+ year of clinical experience
- CMA or RMA certification preferred
- Experience with medical terminology and insurance processes (preferred)
- Strong communication, teamwork, and multitasking skills
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced clinic environment
- Detail-oriented, professional, and patient-focused
- Ability to travel between local office locations, as needed
- Proficient with Microsoft 365 (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams)
