Job Summary

Greet and prepare patients, measure vital signs, and record interview history and chief complaints. Perform phlebotomy, EKGs, and assist with X-rays and therapy procedures under physician direction. Administer medications with authorization, change dressings, and apply bandages. Coordinate appointments by conferring with physicians and nursing staff. Open the office in the morning, close in the afternoon, and maintain patient logs for lab requests and treatment orders. Update medical histories for new and established patients, perform new patient work-ups, and ensure accurate room setup for physicians. Complete consent forms correctly, scribe as assigned, and prepare for the following day's patient confirmations. Adhere to HIPAA, OSHA, and CMS guidelines while maintaining accurate documentation and compliance with healthcare regulations.

Required Qualifications

  • Graduate of a Medical Assistant program or equivalent experience
  • 6 months experience working within a physician's office
  • Urology experience
  • Ability to perform well in stressful situations
  • Knowledge in healthcare systems operations such as EMR, Practice Management Solutions
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple deadlines
  • Project Management
  • Vendor relations
  • Database management
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Skill in using computer programs and applications including Microsoft Office
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Delivers exceptional patient service throughout all interactions
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Complies with HIPAA regulations for patient confidentiality
