Job Summary
Medical Assistant – Urology Office in Albany, NY. The role supports physicians and nurses by taking vital signs and documenting health information in the electronic medical record, handling referrals and pre-authorizations for diagnostic tests, collecting and delivering specimens, coordinating patient flow, and performing front-end revenue-cycle tasks such as scheduling, registrations, charge entry, and claims. The position requires MA certification (CMA/CCMA/RMA) and a high school diploma or equivalent, with healthcare experience and proficiency in an electronic health record system. Required Qualifications
- Graduate of a Medical Assistant Training Program
- Holds National Medical Assistant Certification: CMA, CCMA, RMA
- High School Diploma or equivalency
- At least 10 months’ work and/or clinical training experience in the healthcare field
- Proficient in obtaining manual vital signs
- Experience using an electronic health record system
- Commitment to confidentiality and respect
- Ability to obtain and record patient data including but not limited to: prior health history, family history, allergies, current medications, current complaints, health screening questionnaires
- Knowledge of basic anatomy and medical terminology
- Experience assisting physicians, nurses, or other healthcare providers in performing clinical tasks and procedures
- Ability to provide patients with information related to their health and wellness
