Medical Assistant - Urology of Indiana

Job Summary

Manage administrative and clinical support for urology clinics by answering phone calls, scheduling appointments, and managing patient records and new chart preparation. Process referrals, handle discharges and collections, and ensure examination rooms are stocked and cleaned. Greet patients, verify histories, and obtain vital signs while recording data in the EMR. Assist physicians with office procedures and collaborate with nursing staff to provide high-quality patient care. Maintain OSHA compliance standards and complete required training. Work independently as part of a team with local travel to other clinics as needed.

Required Qualifications

  • High School graduate or equivalent
  • Medical Assistant degree from an accredited vocational institution or a community college course in Medical Assisting
  • Minimum of one (1) year experience
  • Certification in Medical Assisting
  • Travel to other clinics as needed
  • Reasoning Ability
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
  • Thorough knowledge of computer information systems
  • Ability to frequently stand
  • Ability to frequently walk
  • Ability to frequently sit
  • Ability to use hands to finger, handle, or feel
  • Ability to reach with hands and arms
  • Ability to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
  • Ability to talk or hear
  • Ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds
  • Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
  • Working knowledge of OSHA compliance standards
  • Ability to apply OSHA policies and procedures to daily responsibilities
  • Ability to complete, in a timely manner, all training and in-services, including but not limited to annual OSHA training and PPD placements

Desired Qualifications
