Job Summary
Greet patients on the phone and in person, place them in exam rooms, and take vital signs. Assist with setup for examinations, treatments, and procedures, while applying dressings, bandages, and splints as ordered. Maintain accurate patient files and ensure a sanitized, safe working environment in compliance with HIPAA. Requires critical thinking, strong communication, and knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy. Must hold a high school diploma, current CPR certification, and approved medical assistant program certification. Full-time role in Sacramento with comprehensive benefits including medical, dental, vision, 401k match, and generous PTO.
Required Qualifications
- Critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work unsupervised or with minimal supervision
- Strong computer skills and use of Microsoft Office
- Knowledge of basic medical procedures such as dressing a wound
- Strong communication skills and ability to actively listen
- Knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy
- Strong organizational and clerical skills to maintain patient files and perform office duties
- Customer services skills
- Knowledge of safety and sanitation procedures
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Current American Heart Association CPR Certification
- Certification from an approved medical assistant program or equivalent combination of training
Desired Qualifications
- EMR Experience, ModMed experience is a plus
