Job Summary
Place patients in exam rooms, complete exam intakes including medical and social histories, and document vitals in the clinic EMR. Provide patient care under physician direction by taking x-rays, performing daily administrative tasks like re-stocking rooms, and cleaning and sterilizing exam and x-ray areas. Conduct health assessments with Upperline Plus patients, perform telephonic outreach for preventative care, and manage care coordination activities such as scheduling and referrals. Travel to surrounding area clinics for support as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Reliable transportation
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Must be an effective communicator with excellent grammar and interpersonal skills
- Previous experience as a Medical Assistant preferred
- Podiatry or Orthopedic clinic experience preferred
- X-ray experience is a plus
- Clinical care coordination or care management experience is ideal
- Previous experience assisting or providing care to the geriatric patient population is preferred
- Excellent computer skills and strong knowledge of medical terminology
- Previous experience working in an EMR; preferably athenahealth
- Must be flexible problem solvers
- Must be collaborative team players
- Must be eager to learn
- Must be willing to tackle problems
- Must be available for travel to surrounding area clinics
- Must be able to lift more than 5 lbs
- Must be able to stand for extended periods
Desired Qualifications
- Previous experience as a Medical Assistant preferred
