Job Summary
Assist physician teams with injury assessments, treatment support, and follow-up care while managing clinic schedules, patient flow, and chart preparation. Conduct initial physical examinations, take vital signs, order imaging, and perform CPT and ICD-10 coding. Carry out prescribed treatments, educate patients on in-office procedures, and document comprehensive EMR entries including history, allergies, and MIPS templates. Manage DME dispensing, fitting, casting, wound care, and inventory checks for equipment like slings and walking boots. Maintain HIPAA confidentiality, adhere to safety practices, and communicate effectively with patients and staff in a physical clinic environment.
Required Qualifications
- American Heart Association (AHA) BLS Certification
- 2 years of working in a clinical environment
- Skilled understanding of anatomy, physical evaluation, surgical procedures, orthopaedic recovery/rehabilitation procedures, and emergency procedures
- Ability to provide comprehensive, clear documentation in the patient's EMR including but not limited to history, physical examination, and progress
- Must demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills, building rapport, trust, confidence, and goodwill with potential and assigned patients
- Must proactively and effectively communicate with office team and physician
- Skill in using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems
- Ability to use deductive reasoning to apply general rules to specific problems to produce answers that make sense
- Ability to use inductive reasoning to combine pieces of information to form general rules or conclusions
- Ability to keep detailed reports, and use information technology including email, web navigation, Microsoft Suite programs, clinic information systems
- Ability to communicate with different audiences in a simple, clear, and concise manner
- Ability to work under pressure and with strict deadlines
- Ability to have self-direction and efficient time management
- Ability to identify when confidentiality, discretion and judgment are needed, and exhibit these traits appropriately
- Must be willing to travel to all clinic locations
- Some overtime may be required
Desired Qualifications
- College education
- Certified Athletic Trainer (ATC) through Board of Certification (BOC)
- EMT licensure
- MEdlical Assistant Certification
