Job Summary
Conduct triage, take vital signs, and document patient history in the EMR system. Collect laboratory specimens and administer medications and injections, including intramuscular and subcutaneous shots. Perform clinical procedures such as splinting, suture removal, and ear/eye washes. Assist with occupational medicine services including drug screening and pulmonary function testing while maintaining HIPAA and OSHA compliance. Collect routine blood, urine, and oral swabs and operate office medical equipment. Oversee quality assurance programs and CLIA waived laboratory requirements. Travel to other Beaumont Urgent Care locations as needed to support staffing. Full-time 3-day/12-hour shifts from 7AM to 7PM with no overnight work.
Required Qualifications
- Completion of a Medical Assistant program from an accredited institution (diploma or certificate)
- Current Certified or Registered Medical Assistant (CMA/RMA)
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a Medical Assistant in an urgent care or ER/hospital setting
- Proficiency in venipuncture, injections, and general clinical procedures
- Experience using Electronic Medical Records (EMR)
- Ability to work 12-hour shifts, including weekends and holidays
- Positive, proactive approach to patient care and collaboration
- Travel to other Beaumont Urgent Care locations as required
