Job Summary
Prepare patients for examinations and treatments while performing triage, collecting laboratory specimens, and administering medications and injections. Document detailed patient history in the EMR system, start IVs, place catheters, and perform splinting as needed. Collect routine blood, urine, and oral swabs, and assist with Occupational Medicine services including drug screening and pulmonary function testing. Enforce HIPAA and OSHA compliance, oversee quality assurance programs, and perform general administrative tasks. Travel to other Piedmont Urgent Care locations as required to support staffing needs. Full-time 3-day/12-hour shifts from 7 AM to 7 PM with no overnight shifts.
Required Qualifications
- Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program or licensed Paramedic/AEMT
- 1+ year of experience as a Medical Assistant, AEMT, or Paramedic
- willing to train outstanding new graduates
- Proficiency in venipuncture, injections, and clinical procedures
- Experience using Electronic Medical Records (EMR) software
- Ability to work 12-hour shifts, weekends, and holidays
- A positive, proactive approach to patient care and collaboration
- Travel to other Piedmont Urgent Care locations as required
