Job Summary
Oversee clinical skills, competencies, and documentation for new medical assistants, externs, and the MA-in-Training program across Nevada Health Centers. Deliver education on quality, safety, and population health while evaluating performance through patient intake, chart review, and electronic medical record audits. Provide direct patient care, assist new hires, and train staff on telemedicine equipment, CLIA Waived Tests, and lab duties. Conduct respiratory FIT testing, manage lab certifications, and act as the liaison for internal lab surveys and inspections.
Required Qualifications
- National certification through NHA as a Clinical Certified Medical Assistant (CCMA)
- 3+ years' experience as a Medical Assistant in family medicine, pediatrics, or specialty medicine in a clinic setting
- Current CPR/BLS certification
Desired Qualifications
- 1 year experience as an MA Trainer or Lead
- Skill in operating computer databases; EHR/EMR
- Ability to read, write, and calculate mathematical figures
- Knowledge of general office practices in a medical setting
- Knowledge of medical examination, diagnostic and treatment room procedures
- Ability to communicate in a courteous and professional manner
- Skill in identifying and communicating problems and finding solutions
- Ability to understand and respond appropriately, effectively, and sensitively to underserved populations
- Knowledge of ADA, CPT, and ICD-9-CM coding
