Job Summary
Medical Assistant Trainee Program prepares candidates for employment as Medical Assistants at IU Health. The program runs a dedicated cohort with in-person and online classes, 140 hours of instruction and 160 hours of supervised clinical practicum, culminating in a national certification exam to become a Certified Medical Assistant. The program covers tuition, allows time to study, and requires CPR/BLS, basic MS Office skills, and compliance with clinical-site requirements. Graduates may transfer to an MA II position upon completion.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma/GED is required
- 0-3 years of relevant experience
- Be at least 18 years of age by start of program
- Basic proficiency in MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Teams)
- Meet the technical and physical standards
- Basic Life Support certification through American Heart Association is required
